Frog Jump '10

Last week was our county's fair, the Jumping Frog Jubilee. I usually can handle one day of it, and that being a partial day, by myself with all three of our cuties. Thursday and Friday were, thankfully, Kids' Days so the kiddos got in free. And we parked downtown and rode the free shuttle in...saving on parking. And the kids loved riding the shuttle! It was like a ride in itself! All the more money to spend on rides. I made a serious error though in guessing that only Caitlyn would ride enough rides to warrant buying an Unlimited Rides wristband...Aubreigh was sobbing that she couldn't go on more rides, and Jake wasn't too thrilled about being limited either!

Although it wasn't fun to deal with their unhappiness, it was encouraging that they felt confident enough to tackle the rides. Like last year, Caitlyn loved the Super Slide! (Even though it was just the Kiddie rides...) Caitlyn met up with some of her friends, and Aubreigh saw some friends from preschool. The fair wasn't crowded- no lines for rides- so that wristband really paid off. After spending a great deal of time down at the rides, we headed over the animal barns. An hour or so later, we (I, rather) were ready to call it a day and head home. I survived 4 hours at the fair. And it wasn't blazing hot like in years past. Enjoy the pictures from our adventure!

Celebrating Caitlyn's #8!

Our sweet firstborn turned eight on May 2! We celebrated her birthday with a bowling party, which I think went over quite well! All the kids had fun, and it was easy-breezy as far as parties go.

Mother's Day!

One of the things I really wanted to do for Mother's Day was have pictures taken with each of our kiddos. Individual ones. Not posed. The other thing is, I didn't want to cook or clean all day. Got that wish too! We all enjoyed a delicious lunch at Fusion Grill, one of our favorite places that's technically "Mongolian Barbeque". I think Aubreigh ate more than her siblings! I am so, so thankful for my children and the joy they bring to me. They are each precious in their own ways; Caitlyn with her wit and her creativity, Aubreigh with her sweet little smile and her desire to obey, and Jake with his overwhelming snuggliness and little boy exuberance! I love you, kids. I couldn't ask for more.
